He is the God who sees. He is the God who remembers.
Are You Feeling Forgotten?
Genesis 40:23 – “Yet the chief cupbearer did not remember Joseph, but forgot him.”
Do you feel forgotten in your waiting? Left out. No baby showers or pregnancy countdowns while I wanted to bring home our China girl. No apps to show how she is growing. No tips or tricks in preparing the nursery. No check lists for recommended baby registering 101. No. Women adopting are often forgotten in the sea of waiting. long dresses for girls
Do you feel forgotten in your waiting? Looked over. Wedding season again. Friends getting married. A young woman looks in the mirror at herself in the 10th bridesmaid dress, wishing she was the one in white. No ring for her. No ailse to walk down. No. Women waiting to be married are often forgotten while they wait.
In all that Joseph suffered, did his waiting seem just a little too harsh? I mean, come on! He went from a pit. To slavery. To being falsely accused. To being thrown in prison. To waiting. For two years Joseph waited. Many of you, dear friends, have waited that long (or longer). Do you feel forgotten?
No matter your reason for waiting, feeling forgotten is normal. You are not alone in feeling forgotten. Left behind as the world moves forward. No matter how you feel, you are not forgotten.
You are remembered.
Psalm 105:8 – “He remembers his covenant forever, the word that he commanded, for a thousand generations.”
Psalm 112:6 – “For the righteous will never be moved; he will be remembered forever.”
Psalm 136:23 – “It is he who remembered us in our low estate, for his steadfast love endures forever;”
Oh dear, friend. You are not forgotten. I can’t say that enough. You are NOT forgotten. God sees you. Just has God saw Joseph. We know God was in Joseph’s life. God did not forget Joseph was in prison. Waiting for two years. Sometimes God doesn’t say why we have to wait, only while we wait we are remembered.
Our God remembers you. You are not forgotten. He sees you. Take refuge in our God while you wait, knowing He hasn’t forgotten you
God is our refruge
and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives away, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, though it seaters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling….The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.”
